The Oroville and Gridley Live Spot will soon be incorporating parents and families into our programming! We are currently in the process of creating a series of parent nights that are open to everyone. This idea was created based on back to school nights that provide parents the opportunity to tour the location and meet the staff that support their child. Live Spot staff hope to create stronger relationships with parents in an effort to better serve Butte County youth.

The events will include dinners, group discussions, skill sessions for parents and a parent volunteer program! This will also include a meet and greet of the Live Spot staff. Parent skill sessions are being planned based on the need of the Live Spot families and the Prevention Unit goals.

This family involvement will equip families with the tools and resources to help their child become more successful. Parents will increase their skills and knowledge on how to discuss sensitive topics such as underage drinking, gain communication skills, and learn ways to discipline and guide their child through junior high and high school.

More information will be released in September as school starts up again. Check back soon for further details!
