Yesterday kicked off the first day of our Website Challenge!! To all of you that know what this is, thank you for checking it out! The way this website challenge is going to work is everytime you view our PV FNL page on this website (http://www.butteyouthnow.org/friday-night-live/pleasant-valley/) we get a point! And every time you comment on this or any of the other blogs we post, we get another point! And the big kicker is any time a parent or another community member comments on this blog, we get FIVE points!!! I know that PV can win this challenge, but we are going to need all your help in making it happen, so spread the word.
Secondly, our School Climate project is going great! After deciding on the theme "New Beginnings" for January, we sent all of our members out to take pictures of people who had written their "new beginning" on their hand. We had an amazing amount come in, and put them onto a giant collage that is now hanging outside the counseling office on the PV campus. There has been overwhelmingly positive feedback from the project, which is awesome after the hard work our members and officers put into making it happen. I'm very excited about our coming project for February, which we are linking with Rachel's Challenge, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Hey Club Live! Its Katlyn here and I am sooooo ridiculously proud of all of my Club Live students and the Bidwell Jr. High students. This month has been getting better and better. It was great to see all of the students participating in the Random Acts of Kindness, especially today when we were finding new friends to share cookies with! I want everyone to continue checking and blogging on the website because new updates and information will always be put on here! Thanks Club Live kids for making our chapter better every week!!
And a quick reminder: If you are going to Reach to the Future, please bring in your hours or money if you still owe!!!

Reach is right around the corner, I’m so excited! This will be my 6th Reach and every Reach is different. I cannot wait to participate in every activity. The first day is amazing. During challenge day you meet so many new people and learn that everyone is not as different form each other as you think. Not only do you get to bond with others, but you get to share your experiences and let out all that hurt, pain, and even joy and happiness that you feel. It feels so good to share!! Just when you think it can't get any better the second day, it does. You get to listen to a professional inspirational speaker who is always awesome, and then you get to participate in workshops. What is really interesting about the workshops is that there are so many topics to chose and learn from. You can learn about yourself, hope, diversity, and even ways that you can help your community. After a long but fun day there is a talent show, and a dance. At the talent show everyone gets the opportunity to shine no matter what their talent is. Right after that everyone gets their groove on at the dance. It’s a fun way to cut loose after a long couple days. After the dance everyone is so tired and is ready for bed, we all go to bed in anticipation for the following day which is the ropes course. The ropes course gives you and your school team an opportunity to bond with one another. You can really see how much of a support team you have and they are with you all the time. This ropes course gives you a great opportunity to recognize all that you can do. I have seen people overcome their fear of heights, learn to trust and find true joy again. If you do not take full advantage of all the opportunities that Reach has to offer you would be missing out. Every individual that attends Reach gets the opportunity to make new friends, learn new things, and become a better rounded person. This is an event that continues to change my life and others around me, without it I would not be the person I am today. I truly believe that everyone that comes gains something from this conference.
